University of Cape Coast Honours Vice President Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang with Distinguished Fellow Award

The University of Cape Coast (UCC) has honoured Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, Vice President of Ghana, with a Distinguished Fellow Award in recognition of her outstanding service to the university and her significant contributions to national governance.


The honour was conferred during a special ceremony held at the university, where the institution celebrated Prof. Opoku-Agyemang’s long-standing relationship with UCC and her impact on Ghana’s education sector and public service.


Prof. Opoku-Agyemang is an alumna of the university and previously served as Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast, becoming the first woman to hold the position. Her leadership and dedication to academic excellence have been widely acknowledged within the university community and beyond.


Presenting the award, officials of the University of Cape Coast commended the Vice President for her commitment to education, leadership in academia, and her continued role in shaping national development through public service.


In her remarks, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang expressed gratitude to the university for the honour and reiterated the need for Ghana to ensure that investments in education translate into meaningful national development.
