President Mahama Calls for Unity and Responsibility at Ghana’s 69th Independence Day Celebration

H.E. John Dramani Mahama has called on Ghanaians to remain united and committed to national development as the country marks its 69th Independence Day.

Delivering the national address during the celebration at the Jubilee House in Accra, the President emphasized that Ghana’s independence must inspire citizens to put the nation first and work collectively towards progress.

The ceremony brought together government officials, traditional leaders, members of the diplomatic corps, security services, students, and other invited guests to commemorate the historic day.

President Mahama noted that independence represents more than political freedom, stressing that it comes with the responsibility for every Ghanaian to contribute positively to the country’s growth and stability. He urged citizens to demonstrate patriotism not only in words but also through actions that support national development.

He further encouraged the youth to remain hopeful and take advantage of opportunities available to help build the nation’s future, adding that their innovation and dedication will play a crucial role in shaping Ghana’s progress.

The President also highlighted the importance of discipline, accountability, and integrity in public life, stressing that these values are essential for strengthening the country’s democratic institutions and economic development.
