The Court of Appeal has reportedly dismissed an application filed by Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, seeking to halt proceedings in the ongoing Samreboi mining trial.
The application was aimed at putting the trial on hold pending further legal considerations. However, the appellate court declined the request, allowing the case to proceed at the trial court level.
The Samreboi mining case, which continues to attract public interest, relates to allegations connected to mining activities in the Western Region.
With the Court of Appeal’s ruling, the substantive trial is expected to continue as scheduled before the lower court.
