Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, has officially unveiled his campaign team for his bid to become the National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The announcement was contained in a press release issued on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, as the Ashanti Regional Chairman intensifies consultations ahead of the party’s upcoming national executive elections.
According to the statement, the campaign team is made up of experienced political figures, former Members of Parliament, party stalwarts, professionals, youth leaders, and grassroots mobilisers from across the country.
Former Member of Parliament for Sunyani East and former Majority Chief Whip, Hon. Kwasi Ameyaw-Cheremeh, has been appointed Campaign Chairman, while former MP for New Edubiase and former Deputy Minister for Food and Agriculture, Hon. George Boahen Oduro, will serve as Campaign Manager.
The statement also named several prominent personalities within the party, including former Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Hon. George Mireku Duker; former Deputy Minister of Finance and former MP for Nhyiaeso, Hon. Dr. Stephen Amoah; former Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Hon. Sarah Adwoa Safo; former Trobu MP, Hon. Moses Anim; former Central Regional Minister, Hon. Justina Marigold Assan; former Ablekuma North MP, Hon. Akua Afriyie; and former Government Spokesperson on Governance and Security, Dr. Palgrave Boakye-Danquah.
Chairman Wontumi expressed confidence in the competence, experience, and collective capacity of the team to prosecute a disciplined and successful campaign anchored on party unity, grassroots mobilisation, and organisational strengthening.
He further reiterated his commitment to repositioning the New Patriotic Party for victory in the 2028 general elections.
