Ghanaian rapper Medikal has officially been named an ambassador for the “Red Means Stop” anti-drug campaign by the National Youth Authority (NYA).
The announcement was made by the Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment, George Opare Addo, at a ceremony attended by the Chief Executive Officer of the NYA, Osman Ayariga.

Medikal was selected due to his strong influence among young people in Ghana through his music and social media platforms. As ambassador of the “Red Means Stop” campaign, he will help raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and encourage the youth to stay away from harmful substances.

The campaign is aimed at tackling the increasing abuse of a synthetic drug popularly known as “Red” among young people. Through this initiative, the National Youth Authority seeks to educate the youth on the dangers of drug use and promote healthier and responsible lifestyles.

Speaking after the announcement, Medikal expressed his commitment to the campaign, stating that he accepted the ambassadorial role without payment because he wants to contribute to protecting the future of Ghana’s youth.

As part of the initiative, the rapper is expected to participate in nationwide outreach activities, including visits to schools and communities, where he will engage young people and promote the anti-drug message.

The “Red Means Stop” campaign forms part of broader efforts by the National Youth Authority and the Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment to combat drug abuse and support positive youth development across Ghana.
